This manual is beautifully illustrated with clear pen and ink drawings (Oscar Hidalgo is an architect) showing the details of the many ways to make joints and unions for bamboo construction. The chapters are divided into the types of materials derived from bamboo for construction, special tools for working with bamboo, bamboo harvesting techniques, curing and preservation treatments. Other chapters show in detail how to make the joints needed for attaching bamboo culms together, how to make buildings: plans and detailed drawings, water pipes and distribution systems and bridges. Although the manual is in Spanish, the illustrations are easily interpreted for universal application.
